East Grinstead DAA Dementia Action Alliance

East Grinstead was the first town in Sussex to be accredited by the Alzheimer’s Society as a Dementia Friendly Community, through the work of the group.

The East Grinstead Dementia Action Alliance is a volunteer group with representation from the three tier Councils, Age UK, Alzheimers Assoc, Business Association, Queen Victoria Hospital, GP Surgeries, professional care providers, Carers and others. The group are encouraging East Grinstead to be more dementia friendly on the basis of rolling out dementia awareness sessions,  encouraging groups and services to be provided to the residents of the town and surrounding area and producing literature to help signpost to the different services available for those living with dementia.

A small steering group to ensure actions are carried through, meets separately to the main group

The group is open to anyone and meets quarterly.
